Production of lightweight aggregate ceramsite from red mud ...

In this study, RM and MSWIBA were made into pellets by a disc pelletizer and then transformed to lightweight aggregate ceramsites by high-temperature sintering. The sintering mechanism and optimal production process were revealed from evaluation of the performance of ceramsites produced under different production processes.

Lightweight aggregate material s are produced mainly by two methods. The first method of lightweight aggregate production is from naturally occurring raw materials. The second method is byproduct production from iron and steel production. These processes are quite different and, in order to avoid ambiguity, are described separately below.

normal concrete is in the range of the 0.62 to 3.3 W/m K, meanwhile the lightweight. concrete are 0.4 – 1.89 W/m K [32]. 5 Conclusion. The industrial waste can be utilised as aggr egate as the ...

Manufacturing of sintered lightweight aggregate using high ...

Trial tests were conducted on high-carbon fly ash lightweight aggregate (HCFA-LWA) in a laboratory electric furnace and in a manufacturer's batch furnace. A new temperature profile was proposed for the HCFA-LWA sintering process in which carbon served as a partial fuel substitute during the burning period, which can decrease the sintering ...

Lightweight Expanded Clay Aggregate–Leca Production Line ...

Lightweight expanded clay aggregate (LECA Production line) or expanded clay (exclay) is a light weight aggregate made by heating clay to around 1,200 °C (2,190 °F) in a rotary kiln. The yielding gases expand the clay by thousands of small bubbles forming during heating producing a honeycomb structure.

Sintered Fly Ash Light Weight Aggregate Production

The product is an excellent alternative to natural quarried aggregate, being strong, light and consistent. Sintered Flyash light weight aggregate substitutes natural stone aggregate/chips in Concrete, reducing dead weight. It can also be used in production …

Rotary Kilns in Expanded Clay Aggregate Production

Expanded Clay Aggregate Thermal Treatment (Calcination or Sintering) The properties of expanded clay that make it ideal for use in a given application are achieved through a highly engineered production process. Clays are typically crushed, agglomerated and/or dried as a means of feedstock preparation, though this process can vary.

Bloating Mechanism of Lightweight Aggregates due to ...

The purpose of this study was to improve the recycling rate of industrial wastes by investigating the bloating mechanism of artificial lightweight aggregate depending on the ramping rate and time, which is a dynamic parameter in the production of artificial lightweight aggregate. In this study, coal bottom ash and dredged soil at a weight ratio of 1 : 1 …

Manufacturing of sintered lightweight aggregate using high ...

The application of synthetic lightweight aggregate is becoming as important as the use of normal weight aggregate (NWA) because the resources of natural, normal weight aggregate are diminishing. According to Clarke ( Clarke, 2002 ), LWA can be produced artificially by thermal processing of natural materials, such as clay, shale and slate, or by ...

Ceramic light-weight aggregates production from ...

This work shows the production of a ceramic light-weight aggregate (LWA) from mixtures of petrochemical wastes (oily wastes and oil sludge), a conventional clay and two different carbonates (NaHCO 3 and CaCO 3) used as expansion agents. The novelty of this study is the valorization of an important hazardous waste for the synthesis of a potential material for construction.
